Industrial Group Axel Johnson International Establishes Presence in Canada – two Business Groups Enter a New Growth Market

7/3/2025

Axel Johnson International is strengthening its global presence with two strategic entries into the Canadian market through its business groups Lifting Solutions and Fluid Handling Solutions (AxFlow). The acquisitions of Lam-é St-Pierre Group, operating in Ontario, Quebec, and New Brunswick, and Jadler Industries in Calgary, Alberta, not only mark the group’s first step into Canada – but also reflects Axel Johnsons long-term strategy of growing beyond our Swedish home market.

During the past ten years Axel Johnson’s industrial group Axel Johnson International, has tripled its revenue and increased profitability almost sixfold. In 2024, revenues amounted to SEK 20.1 billions, with a profit of SEK 1.6 billion. The growth has been achieved through a combination of organic growth and acquisitions including a geographic expansion within Europe as well as Oceania. Now an additional step is taken with the entry into the Canadian market.

It’s an important step in Axel Johnson International’s international development, as well as for the entire Axel Johnson group. Canada is one of the world’s most stable and developed industrial nations, with values close to our own, such as a focus on responsibility, quality and building long-term relations.

Canada has a strong industrial foundation across sectors such as energy, mining, food, process industry, and water management. The market is characterized by a stable business climate, high technical competence, and a strong focus on sustainability – attributes that align well with Axel Johnson International’s values-driven approach to developing businesses.

Martin Malmvik, CEO of Axel Johnson International:
“These establishments are the result of long-term, purposeful work. We’ve monitored the Canadian market for several years, looking for the right moment and the right partners. With Lam-é St-Pierre Group and Jadler Industries, we’re gaining two strong, locally rooted companies with clear expertise in their respective fields. This not only creates opportunities for organic growth and synergies, but also enables knowledge exchange and business development across our group.”

Within Lifting Solutions, the expansion is through the acquisition of Lam-é St-Pierre Group – a well-established company with over 70 years of experience in lifting, rigging, and safety solutions. The group consists of Lam-é St-Pierre, Boulons LPG, and Industrial Rigging & Supply, and employs over 100 people across several locations in Eastern Canada.

Within Fluid Handling Solutions (AxFlow), the expansion is through the acquisition of Jadler Industries, a company with deep expertise in fluid handling. Jadler holds a strong position in Western Canada, particularly in hygienic applications and the process industry, and provides both equipment and complete system solutions, including project management.

Together, the two acquisitions provide Axel Johnson International with broad geographic coverage – from east to west – in a market with strong potential. The expansion is fully aligned with the group’s strategy of building strong, long-term businesses in selected niche markets.
