The online store Matsmart is raising SEK 182 million in a round where Axel Johnson participates through D-Ax.
The round is led by German LeadX Capital Partners, an investment company with strong links to German food giant Metro Group, one of the world’s largest wholesale and retail chains.
Matsmart is an e-commerce company that sells surplus food that would otherwise have gone to waste. Matsmart offers home delivery throughout Sweden and Finland. In 2018, Matsmart saved 3,218 tonnes of food from being discarded.
